Neurogenic Yoga & Trauma Release Exercises (TRE)
Neurogenic Yoga™ blends yoga postures (asana) and breathwork (pranayama) with the body’s natural shaking response, known as Self-Induced Therapeutic Tremors (SITT). This gentle yet powerful practice helps release physical and emotional tension by relaxing the psoas muscle and calming the nervous system.
Inspired by Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises (TRE®), developed by Dr. David Berceli, Neurogenic Yoga™ activates the body’s natural tremors to release deep-seated stress. Many of us unknowingly hold tension in our muscles due to fight-or-flight responses, which can affect energy levels, sleep, appetite, and overall well-being. Through guided movements, tremors start in the legs and gradually spread, promoting relaxation and balance.
What to Expect in a Session
After an initial grounding, we’ll engage in gentle exercises to activate the body’s tremor mechanism. Once the vibrations emerge, we explore self-regulation and grounding techniques. The 60-minute session concludes with a brief sharing.
